See your dentist, share him how your appearance is making you feel. If you are a resident of the UK hopefully you'd know how to get braces on the NHS. Have a sermon with your dentist, he know whats best for you.

I have equal kind of teeth and my dentist told me to shift to the orthodontist. If you are uncomfortable formulate an appointment with yours. Ill be getting my braces within September. It is really worth the pain for fail-safe teeth!

yes u do need braces. its really worth the dull pain ( i had a notch as well and immediately its closed and i LOVE em :D)

Is lack of money your problem? See if you can work a unpaid job or even put up for sale plasma for money to pay for the braces. If you are too young-looking to be able to to these things, later I guess you'll have to lurk until you are older. They can put braces on adults.
