Healthy Appetizers?

My boyfriend and I are trying to lose weight and be in good health. We're trying to stick to a diet of "if it can be picked from the earth or manufactured by a simple process after its okay to eat." Probelm near that is that profusely of things are no longer "okay". what fairly inborn and healthy appetizers can we craft? (unfortunately, mozzarella sticks and french fries are out).

Mini Spinach Calzones

1/2 of a 10oz pkg frozen chopped spinach, thawed & drained
1/2 of an 8oz. pkg reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Dash pepper
1 10oz. pkg chilled pizza dough
Water
1 tablespoon milk
Light spaghetti sauce (optional)

Directions
1. For filling, surrounded by a medium mixing bowl stir together the spinach, cream cheese, green onion, Parmesan cheese, and pepper. Set aside.

2. Unroll pizza dough. On a weakly floured surface, roll dough into a 12-inch square. Using a knife, cut into twenty-five 3-inch squares. Spoon 1 rounded teaspoon of satisfying onto each dough square. Brush edges of respectively square with dampen. Lift a corner of each square and stretch dough over the satisfying to the opposite corner, making a triangle. Press edges of the dough okay with fingers or a fork to stamp.

3. Line a baking sheet with foil; insubstantially grease the foil. Arrange the calzones on the baking sheet. Prick tops of calzones with a fork. Brush milk over the calzones.

4. Bake within a 425 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden. Let stand for 5 minutes until that time serving. If desired, serve with spaghetti sauce. Makes 25 calzones.

there are closely of good cookbooks at the library that enjoy good untaught recipes within them. check em out.
vegetarian or lacto-vegetarian magazines are appropriate places to look cuz they have profoundly of veggies and stuff in the recipe. if you neeeed meat you can always include it in next.
wait appetizers for what? are you intake out? if thats the case dont directive appetizers at all purely get a salad beside your meal...are you at home? why guzzle appetizers? if you mean snacks, i would suggest snacking on fresh fruit or vegetables...or again a small salad...save for that you should be eating full meal..appetizer shouldn't be in your vocabulary if you're trying to lose weightiness.and dannon's light and fit yogurt is honourable too
