My daughter be freshly diagnosed next to strabismus (exotropia) of BOTH eyes. Anyone near this? Treatment?

I know typically they patch the 'bad' eye but I don't think that would work surrounded by this case. Do eyeglasses always correct the problem? She's solitary 8 months old! I'm asking question because she still hasn't been to the specialist for treatment. Just want information on what others may hold been through.

Answer:
in good health ok, what happen is the some muscle of your daughter's eye is any too rigid or short, which pulls the eye from an abnormal angle. Doctors usually do the "eye patch" treatment if here is only one impossible eye, to force it to come back into its unproved angle.
However, in your daughter's crust i dont think they can do that, from what i know they can gross surgical adjustments next to stabismus, which they will only fix the muscles that cause the problem in the eye.
It is other the best to see a specialist, and dont worry your daughter is going to be alright
My little brother and sister be both born with strabismus. They both have 2 surgeries before they be 3. And wore glasses adjectives through growing up. But now (they are 18 and 22) they don't enjoy to wear glasses and their eyes are fine. It is strong when they are babies, but if handled right it could be seriously better when they grow up.
