Delsym is awesome non-sedating cough syrup. I'm allergic to the world and this stuff keeps me from self miserable. You might also want to consider this: your Claritin might not be cutting it. Singulair is awesome and have really cut down on all my coughing from allergies/asthma. There is an inhaler and a pill, so consult to your doc about which Singulair might work best for you. Your doc might hold samples for you to try, so focus about that remedy. In the meantime try the Delsym, it's wonderful.
I would also change your a/c filter and grasp a new pillow past spending money on an air purifier. The angelic air purifiers are the Honeywells approaching they use in hospitals, and the filter a great deal pf money and must be changed repeatedly.
We use 3M allergy filters for our medium a/c and it really makes a huge difference surrounded by the amount of dust/allergans that gets though. Your pillow should be replaced every 6 months if you own allergies, it gets full of dust mites and will kind you miserable.

What kind of cough is it. Is something dripping down from your feeler tickling your throat.
Is it a dry tickle in your throat after a humidifier may help.
The medication should be stopping the drip from the nose down the throat.
If you don't enjoy the dripping and the tickle is in your chest. I would loosen this beside some Vick's vapor rub on chest and nose and the humidifier.
One concern If you are taking the allergy prescription a long time you might want to get your heart checked.
Coughing can also be nerves if near is no mucus or dry tickle. If you take a weighty breath in and out and and can hear anything but nouns cough this would indicate lose mucus which should be taken care of by the allergy meds. This will also indicate if it is dry need humidity.
