So I found out I hold hives but my hand, foot and frontage is swollen!! Is that supposed to be mundane?
My left foot is very totally swollen and I can't even see my bones when I flex anymore. My right hand isn't as severe but it is swollen as okay.
Both feet are swollen too and the departed side of my face is swollen to the point where on earth my left eyelid isn't as "open" as my right one.
I manage to "calm" the hives down from my face but it's still on my body.
Is it typical to swell up like this? I have hives before and I don't remember swelling up similar to this.
I already tried ice but it didn't really hold the swelling down.
Yeah I went to the doctor and get some medication but she didn't really look at me. I asked if I had hives and she said "yes" and give me the prescriptions.
School is about to start surrounded by a week for me, I hope it goes down by after!
Answers: You not only involve benadryl but you are at the point where you requirement prednisone or medrol to get the impulse under control. I have hives that bad and have the condition for over 5 years but had the outbreaks controlled next to claritin and an asthma medicine.
When I go on a gluten free diet after a diagnosis of celiac disease, I stopped the medicine and own been hive free for over 5 years.
Like someone else said, if you are getting reaction on your face and nouns like that, it can start affecting your airway.
The best type doctor to work next to hives and find a medicine combination to maintain them away is an allergist. It may take a few times to find a drug combination/dosage that works for you.
If you want to try the celiac disease route, there is a blood theory test initially followed by an endoscopy. Get the doctor to evaluate you for celiac disease, dermititis herpetiformis and gluten intolerance. You have to be consuming gluten within your diet for the tests to be successful. Or you can just try a gluten free diet for 2-3 months to see what happen.
Good luck
Hives can occur from foods, clothing, soaps, things within your environment and stress. Unless you can make a direct association to a enduring product, you will never know the cause of these hives. Were you prescribed a Medrol dose pack or prednisone? This help but sometimes, the hives come back past another dose is due. Benadryl helps find you through the periods when the hives are popping out again. Unless you are exposed to the offending product/food again, you should be capably by the time school starts. It usually take 72 hours minimum to clear an offending allergen from your body.
