Can a hives outbreak be caused by Heat?

I have broken in out in hives for no definable reason for the past 48 hours. I am not having any other symptoms. The hives seem to mostly be in the warmest areas of the body: inner thighs, behind the knees, armpits and abdomen. Is there a connection or is this normal hives? Also does hydrocortisone help? I already took a benadryl/claritin combo, but that can take a day or two to work according to MD. Is there anything I can do to heal this faster?

Answer:
It's called a heat rash. The Benadryl should help, but also take a warm bath with baking soda and powdered oatmeal.
