A unpromising smell resembling chalk and a white cloak of dust?

it smells so bad my husband have breathing problems and cant sleep in the bed room.we put a pin in the wall to suspend a picture 2 weeks ago and this started one week later.we hold no idea what it is. thank you


Answers:    I'm no expert but my guess would be asbestos. If you live surrounded by a newer home than this probably isn't right but if your home is older in that would be a reason for concern. I would hire a building inspector to check your place out.
