I have a bruise right quad and is swelled when i put weight or bend it there is pain what is this called?
Answer:
You're sure it isn't broken, right? A knee to the thigh is not a likely mechanism for a broken leg, but when someone tells me that their leg is lumpy and it hurts when they put weight on it, that makes me a little worried. Assuming it's *not* broken (if you're walking around, it probably isn't), you probably have a deep hematoma in your muscle. A hematoma is a pocket of blood. The muscle that was bruised probably started bleeding inside your leg and the blood just accumulated there. There isn't any quick-fix for this. Apply warm compresses (towel soaked in warm water, or one of those heating pads you can buy) whenever you have time and make sure you keep moving it around. The heat and movement will make your body reabsorb the blood faster, but it will likely still take a long time. If you don't see an improvement in a few days or if the pain is really bad, go see a doctor.
