What is the best cure for treatment resistant depression?
Answer:
I'm not sure what medication you have used. Treatment resistant depression can respond ably to meds for bipolar - such as lamictal. If you are very treatment resistant, at hand is a possibility of bipolar I or II
Exercise and a reason not to be depressed.
Having a vagus gall stimulator implanted. They used to do this to treat seizures, but lately learned that it treats depression as all right. I think you hold to qualify for the surgery by having not responded to a lasting number of medications.

Ok first stale lets find this straight, here is no cure, whether you respond to drugs or not, there is individual treatment which helps the symptoms and make them less severe and more sufferable. Unless of course you believe (and come up by some miracle to be right) in the power of holy hose down that mysteriously appears running down a statue of jesus or whatever, and its wherewithal to cure all ailments... and you attain hold of some :) It amazes me that no one have answered with what every middle-of-the-road doctors reponse would be and has be (in my own personal experience)- ECT (electro convulsive shock therapy). however, saying ECT is a 'good treatment' within my view is a bit of an oxymoron. for something to be a moral treatment it has to oblige a lot more than it harms ie the benfits outweigh the side effects/ risks. and contained by my view (and frequent educated nation i knows- including some mental health workers) ECT does not
I am watchful of even planting the seed of ECT contained by your head- if you ended up have it i would feel in part responsible and very severely guilty- but if you have severe depression and it have been deem treatment resistant then it is merely a matter of time until that time doctors do it for me, and they wont give you an honest story of all sides of the argument- empire with view on it similar to mine (including some psychologists i've met and a junior psychiatric doctor) are seen as irrational crackpots by the widely held medical profession.
someone asked a question just about ECT a few day ago, this be my response:
I was threatened next to it. yes, i use the word threatened- that is how i see it. entity is, they dont actually know how it works, at adjectives. they also dont know what alot of the brain actually does so cannot honestly right to be heard that it doesnt damage you.
I kinda believe that we hold types of intelligence and stuff that cant be measured, i believe it would have to sabotage some of this. i mean your mildly electrocuting the brain! how could it not do damage? i own met people in the past it and then again after and they seem different, it upset me.
Ever seen one flew over the cuckoos nest? how ect is within that is the genuineness of it. the only difference in this day and age is they put you under a common anaesthetic first and use muscle relaxants to stop your whole body convulsing.
I own a good friend who is a psychiatric registrar (junior dr) she is unmoving against it and sees it as surely barbaric. she explained it like this: 'sure it works, but so does pruning a rosebush near a bulldoser but would you let one loose on your front patio?'
Its up to you and depends entirely on how desperate you are. i personally fixed i'd rather promise with severe depression
The multi pronged approach at http://www.ezy-build.network.nz/~shaneris... on page 2.
sometimes a doctor may, if everything else has has-been such as medication, therapy, will suggest etc. i know frequent people reckon it is very barbaric, but i worked within a psychiatric hospital for 30 years, and have assisted next to etc treatment. it is not a cure , and does not always work, but i hold seen it do more accurate than harm. in attendance is a problem with short residence memory loss, but this does not last long. it usually requires a series of treatments , and the depression can come spinal column. i have see it work on a 60 year old woman, who was so depressed and anxious, she could not munch through , sleep, function at home, and after a series of treatment was competent to go home. i own seen it work on individuals that are so depressed they are almost in a catatonic state. do not lug my word for it, on your next press you may ask if any one has have etc, and did it work for them. you may be surprised at the res ponces. for the most part i own seen etc do more accurate than harm., but should be used as the closing resort. good luck to you.
