I am a 24 year old feminine. I went to the gym yesterday and have a personal trainer figure out my body solid by pinching my
fat contained by my upper arm, upper thigh and my hip area beside some tool that was connected to a soaring tech computer. He also weighed me(125lbs) and get my height(5'6). I am very alive, eat impressively well and am remarkably in-tune with my body, but I be pretty surprised at how low my
BMI was. He told me and I enjoy read that a low
BMI for women my age is 18%, so with that said, am I TOO low? Also, how influential are those machines that he used to measure me?
Answer:
Nope, you're foolproof. Don't change a item. Except stop listening to trainers that want you to buy a bias in their club.
Your
BMI is not 14.7%.
At 5'6", you would weigh in the order of 92 pounds if your
BMI was 14.7.
Your
BMI (according to the consignment and
height you provided) is: 20.2, which puts you squarely within the "normal" range.
The number your personal trainer provided you may be your body flabby percentage (BMI is not a percentage).
Best of luck,
~M~
