Does singing use a different chunk of the brain than speaking?
I am reminded of family who are are bad stutterers and can narrowly talk, but can sing.
How is this possible?
Answers:
Singing is a repititious behavior--you sing songs you've sung back. Speech is different, because usually every time you speak, you say something productive and new. With speech, you are potentially using any number of brain centers. If you're chitchat about your plans, you might use you prefrontal cortex that help you with planning. If you're discussion about something you saw, you might be using your primary ocular cortex on the occipital lobe. If you're talking around emotions, you'd plausible involve you limbic systems.
There's a good probablity that her loss of speech function is not due to a loss of strident motor control, but rather it is due to a loss of the cortical functions that step into organizing your thoughts. Two question: 1) is she similarly impared in writing as a vehicle of communication? If so, it suggests that the issues are not matters of determined control, but in thought arrangement. 2) Does she sing clean and unique songs that own never been sung, or is she repeating an oft-heard song?
Anyone who have ever done karaoke while drunk knows that singing drunk can be remarkably easy. Coordination of motor function is controlled by the cerebellum (the roomy mass of brain that sits like a great big cauliflower at the hindmost of the brain) unless it is pre-empted by the higher functions of the mind cortex. If the cortex exerts direct control, it can have a bias to "over-think" and cause extra mistakes. You might own noticed this when playing bowling or miniature golf, that you tend to do better if you don't "deduce about it." This is because the cortex can inhibit the function of the cerebellum.
Finally, in that are some things that can happen within dementia where a single chunk of the brain gets extra attention due to a loss of function surrounded by other places. It has be observed that some stroke victims become prolific artists, without any specialized training, because the artistic centers of the brain are untouched by damage that exists elsewhere. The result is that the brain focuses more crack into the undamaged areas, and those undamaded areas become repositries of great skill. Something similar is thought to be happening within the so-called "idiot savant," the person near many great mental deficit, but a noted genius contained by some particular nouns.
singers use 1 of the 2 vocal chords we adjectives have..one for singing one for discussion
it has be seen that within dementia ur short term memory is artificial more than ur long term memory ..resembling they wont remember things done rite now but can evoke exactly what had happen in former times life from their childhood ..powerfully i think thats how they can sing ably those old songs .when come to speaking they become conscious and more worried thats what i guess .
