also, try not to watch TV previously going to sleep, that wont help at adjectives. Instead try reading, that always help me. (yes, I used to suffer from insomnia too)
also, another possibility could also be that you need a exotic matress. but I wouldn't go to such extreme measures unless you are positively desperate.

I was surrounded by the same boat. Actually a few days ago I've be getting some sleep. I usually get alternating period of insomnia and decent sleep. What works for me is to try to stay awake until you attain really tired. However, try to go to sleep at dark and don't take nap. Keep doing this until your body gets into the rhythm. Whatever you do, try to hang on to this routine as best as possible.
You can try other things like taking melatonin from a vitamin shop or something. Reading up to that time you go to sleep. Don't exercise or drink caffeine previously you go to sleep. It also help to close the curtains at night for more fogginess. Anyway, good luck.
