Female sex chromosomes are XX, a males is XY. The only item a male sex chromosome have to do with a infant is determine it's sex. If the baby receive a X from their mother and a X from their father then it is a girl infant. If the baby receive a X from their mother and a Y from their father then it is a boy babe-in-arms.
