Alcohol beforehand surgery?

My boyfriend is scheduled to enjoy surgery in 5 days. He drank alohol 2 days ago. He only just saw the pamphlet that was given to him at the doctor's. It said he cannot drink alcohol 10 days previously the surgery.
He's going to call the doctor tomorrow and inform them.

Do you construe they will have to reschedule his surgery?
Answers:
It is up to his surgeon. If his surgery involves the liver or anything related to it, his surgeon may be concerned going on for the alcohol interfering with laboratory values.

As far as the anesthesia go, two days is sufficient. If a patient comes contained by drunk, of course, he'll be sent home, unless it's emergency surgery.

Ten days seem a little excessive to me.
