Greatly Improved sleep following stroke?

Prior to my stroke which has moved out me with no disabilities I be a chronic insomniac dependent on zolpidem. How is this possible when usually the reverse occurs?

Well strokes affect different parts of the brain; such as sense, motor skills, speech, behavior, and thought pattern. So it is possible that the area of your brain that controls sleep could be artificial i suppose.
I remember after my mother had a stroke, she could hear properly within her left ear which she couldn't do beforehand. Strange!
