Fiorcet (Fiorinal(R) (butalbital, aspirin, caffeine)*+ prednisone interaction?
my dr perscribed me fiorinal because of migraines. i just came off prednisone 2 days ago and i be reading on drug interactions to not take fiorinal with prednisone. WELL TOO LATE I ALREADY DID! i am scared the drugs will interact. why did my dr perscribe both to me. does he know in the region of this?
Answers:
Prednisone and butalbital (one of the ingredients of Fiorcet) have a moderate drug-drug interaction. Butalbital may decrease the levels of prednisone contained by your blood, thereby making prednisone less effective.
The fact that you are no longer taking prednisone ability that this is not a problem in your case
