Ampicillin vs Tetracycline?

I used to take ampicillin for my acne. I did well for the many years I took it but later latetly it hasn't been helping so I went to the doctor and he prescribed me tetracycline. Is that more effective than amp? And what are the differences between the two? Like the side effects, etc.
Answers:
Ampicillin is a mild anti-biotic, children, acne etc. Tetracycline
always gave me an upset stomach, clutch w/milk or cracker. I
know it works well.
